One thing that I've noticed in my browsing of flickr uploads, is that people rarely mention what pose they're using. I think poses can make something extraordinary or not and maybe that's why most are reluctant to reveal their sources. The more unique the pose, the more others are drawn in to the picture.
I've toyed with making my own poses and didn't get past my first one. That was hilarious. One bit of advice that I would like to pass on, and that is to initially upload your pose to the beta grid, so you don't spend $10L uploading something that is unusable. :) Maybe I'll revisit it later but it did make me appreciate the pose makers out there more.
Sure a lot of people heavily edit their photos in software such as Photoshop, but one thing you can't get around is the pose.
